The club was founded in 1966 as a result of the merger of two local clubs, Kallithea F.C. and Atromitos Kallitheas. The club has played in the Greek First Division (now Super League 1) for a total of 12 seasons, with its highest finish being ninth place in the 2004–05 season. The club has also reached as far as the quarter-final stage of the Greek Cup on five occasions (1969–70, 1978–79, 1986–87, 2001–02, 2009–10).
